I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping my clients at a time in their lives when they really need someone. Family Law, as a practice, is not for everyone. But for those of us who brave this tough field, it can be quite rewarding. Many of my clients come to me at one of the toughest times in their lives. I have the opportunity to help ease the burden of the situation they find themselves in, offer sound advice, and help them rebuild their lives successfully.
I founded the Hills Law Group with the notion that we could help families and people who needed us. I firmly believe that a good family lawyer wears many hats. We are not just a mediator or counselor, but a caretaker, litigator, psychologist, business valuator, custody valuator, and so much more. Every client requires a different aspect of what I can do, but that’s what makes this job so rewarding.
Here’s a little more about me:
I have had an interest in – and a passion for – law as far back as I can remember. I attended the University of California, Irvine where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis on Global Political Economy. At UC Irvine, I was on the Dean’s List while also participating in the campus Law Forum and American Marketing Association.
I earned my Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law. While at Loyola, I was a proud member of the Loyola Annual Journal of Law and Technology and an executive board member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. Additionally, I was a student practitioner at the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice where I represented indigent criminal defendants and developed web applications to facilitate the practice of law. I found my work at this placement both educational and incredibly rewarding.
I have also had an opportunity to serve as an intern in the chambers of the Honorable Jay C. Zainey of the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, where I gained invaluable experience and insight in federal practice. Later, I interned at Twenty First Century Fox Legal Group, where I worked directly with the Content Protection legal team to establish both lobbying policy as well as litigation strategy to protect corporate intellectual property interests.
Prior to opening the Hills Law Group, I practiced law with Bremer, Whyte, Brown & O’Meara, LLP where I handled family law and civil litigation matters. Prior to that, I practiced with a small firm in Orange County where I gained a great deal of experience in all aspects of family law litigation. I have had the pleasure of working with clients from all backgrounds including extremely high asset clients as well as clients with nearly no assets.
I am admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California.
